On February 18, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan announced the nationwide production figures for 2024 aracha (unrefined green tea). Kagoshima Prefecture proudly achieved the long-awaited No.1 ranking in Japan.
With an aracha production volume of 27,000 tons in 2024, Kagoshima surpassed Shizuoka Prefecture for the first time, capturing a national market share of 36.5%.
